From Mick Lovett's email:
As a result of the government’s decision to carry on with it’s sanctions for a further month we have realised that due to the rule of 30 we will be unable to meet up as planned on June 30th.
This means that the Fridaythorpe meet up has been postponed until further notice.
We have decided that we do want the WWheelers to meet up before the next Boris devision and have chosen a new start up date of Wednesday July 7th and every subsequent Wednesday until all restrictions are removed.
We cannot, however, all meet up at Exhibition Square and therefore have chosen two meet up venues. Hopefully this will comply with the rule of 30.
The two venues are Exhibition Square and the Minster
Groups 1 Originally Murray’s group
Group. 3. Originally Tony & Phil’s group
Will meet up at the Minster
Group 2. Originally Judy & Jim’s group
Group 4. Originally Eamon’s picnic group now with Keith
Will meet up as normal at Exhibition Square
These ‘bubble’ groups met up naturally during the restrictions and certainly until the government restrictions are removed will make the day’s ride decisions as they have been doing over the last few months.
A reminder;
Group 1 will continue to cover larger distances at the faster pace
Groups 2 & 3 the normal WW distances and pace
Group 4 Shorter distances and slower pace.
Could each group let Adrian know their planned rides as soon as possible and not later than the Monday before the Wednesday ride.
This will then be put out on the website and all members can choose the group they wish to ride with.
We agree that this is not ideal and is in effect a trial until restrictions are removed and for a little time thereafter.
Please bear in mind the CyclingUK rule of 15 and the road etiquette of no more than 8 and preferably 6 riding together.
