Today's ride takes us on a circuitous route around the badlands south of York. Our outward journey takes in the cycle tracks and back roads through Stillingfleet, Riccall, Barlby then on to Osgodby where we will call in at the Garden Centre Cafe for a snack and a natter. The route out of Osgodby follows an interesting byway via Hemingbrough and Barmby-on-the-Marsh leading us eventually to Howden. We will take a rest here to enjoy our packed lunches in the square followed perhaps, by a walk around Howden Minster with origins dating back to circa 1267. Our return route back home wends to and fro across the badlands thro Wressle, Breighton, Bubwith, Aughton, Ellerton, East Cottingwith, Storwood, Sutton Upon Derwent, Elvington, Wheldrake, Crockey Hill, Bishopthorpe and back into York. This is an interesting 57 mile, 793ft ascent ride and we do hope you enjoy your day. As always, please bring a packed lunch and drink with you as a formal lunch stop will not be on the agenda. Take away coffee may be available in Howden. www.plotaroute.com/route/2125741?units=miles
