Heading out north via Newton, Alne, Easingwold to Husthwaite 22 miles. Visit the Norman St. Nicholas church, refreshment stop (flask). Turn east to Yearsley, onto the ridge road, passing the City of Troy, Terrington, Coneysthorpe to Malton (42 miles). Picnic lunch in the Square or cafe stop. The group may split here if there are cafe delays. Return Huttons Ambo, Kirkham, Crambe where we have the opportunity to visit 11th century St. Michael's Church. Bossall, Warthill, Murton. No cafe stops planned, but if the weather dictates we can stop in Easingwold, Terrington. Plenty of opportunities to cut the route short if the weather or road conditions deteriorate! 65 miles. 2600ft ascent. www.plotaroute.com/route/2174527?units=miles

Apologies, the above route will be amended asap as I've learned that Kirkham Bridge is closed for repairs.

I have revised the original route. Considering the weather forecast and expected low temperatures, I've plotted the outward route on what I hope will be gritted roads. So straight up to Tollerton, Alne. Will make a decision on the day with the group as to whether we have a cafe stop in Easingwold to warm up. Return from Malton via Huttons Ambo, Westow, Bossall. We will leave the church in Crambe for another day. 65 miles. 2815ft ascent. www.plotaroute.com/route/2175984?units=miles
