A gentle 75 miles and a bit of modern history. The RCAF 1943-45 flew 40,000 operational sorties from 7 airfields in the Vale of Mowbray. This ride looks at 3 of the airfields, East Moor, Tholthorpe and Dalton and passes through sites reminding us of what a risky business it was flying Wellingtons and Halifaxes. Elevenses in Easingwold and lunch in Thirsk. Reminder to bring sarnies but cafes are available. www.plotaroute.com/route/2325853?units=km
