Ride 3 - Wetherby Fewston - 20th September 73 miles 3920ft To Wetherby: via Askham Bryan; Wighill (Morrisons for morning coffee - 30 mins max.). To Fewston: via Kirkby Overblow; Weeton; and gated road. The Sun Inn stops serving food at 2-00pm which we might just make with a short coffee stop but another option might be sandwiches, which can be eaten down by the reservoir on the picnic tables. The Sun Inn can provide drinks afterwards if needed. Home via Hampsthwaite; Ripley and Knaresborough with stops at either if anyone is desperate. Menwith Hill Road is closed behind the “Golfballs” so there will be a variation to the published route - we will continue down to the Nidd Valley and go via Birstwith to Ripley. www.plotaroute.com/route/2340740?units=miles (courtesy of John Walker) The more alert amongst you will notice certain similarities to ride 2 last week. The weather forecast for the 20th looks less than favourable. I will turn out regardless and if there any takers then we'll do the ride. I suspect that the more likely outcome is that a few hardy souls will do a shorter ride.
P.S. If anyone is able to add me to the Ride 3 WhatsApp group, I'll post any further updates there. I'm already in the 1a/1b/5 WhatsApp group if contact details are needed (not wishing to publish them here).

The weather turned out to be not as bad as forecast. However there were no takers for Fewston so we (10 of us) did a shortened version of Osgodby--Blacktoft, turning at Howden. We got wet a couple of times but soon dried out. 1 puncture, 4 fallers.
