Todays ride takes us out of York via Acomb Front Street, Askham Bryan, Long Marston, Cowthorpe, Little Ribston on to Knaresborough riverside and The Black Mulberry for our elevenses cafe stop at 23m. We then leave Knaresborough via Calcutt, Follifoot, Spofforth, North Deighton, Wetherby, cycle track via Thorpe Arch and over the River Wharf where we may stop for a sandwich lunch (35 mls) if the weather is fine, failing that Tims cafe is an option to consider should we be faced with inclement weather. Onwards along the cycle track then cross over and ride up Rudgate Lane. Take a right turn at the top of Rudgate Lane then after a short distance we will visit the site of Tadcaster Building Limestone where stone is currently quarried for York Minster. A short back track then takes us over the A659 taking the nice back road into Tadcaster. From Tadcaster which could be an alternative option for lunch if we prefer (42 mls) we then wend our way back into York via Bolton Percy, Appleton Roebuck, Acaster Malbis, Bishopthorpe then York. Round trip about 55 miles with 2021ft of ascent.
Please be self sufficient as regards food and drink on this 1A ride as a formal sit down cafe stop for lunch will not be arranged.
