Road access to Tollerton has been closed at crossings of the River Kyle and its tributaries both south of the village, at York Bridge (aka Ella Bridge), and north at Carrholme Bridge. On Friday afternoon a group of us got through at Carrholme Bridge, but only those with fully waterproof boots kept dry feet. Neither location is now listed as closed by NYCC. I know that York Bridge had been listed there, so I presume they're now formally reopened. Given the dry forecast and falling river levels I would be surprised if you have any problems there on Wednesday but you could keep watch on a live feed online of the level of the River Kyle further downstream. Thornton Bridge, on your route, is currently listed as "Passable with care", so you might get damp feet there.

Hi, The York Bridge Road South of Tollerton was still closed yesterday with deep water and a van blocking the road. I've not got a more recent update.
