The road bridge at Stamford Bridge is now closed. As Andrew says, the railway viaduct and pedestrian bridge remain open.
Traffic information from Google suggests that, unsurprisingly, traffic diverting from the usual route is causing Buttercrambe bridge and Dolegate to experience much higher volumes of traffic than usual. I'll be avoiding those for the duration.

Traffic is being diverted (or routed by satnav) to Buttercrambe Bridge via the minor road from the A166 just past the Balloon Tree. We came this way on Bank Holiday Monday morning and it was very busy. Queue for the Bridge was >half mile long! Lots of fast, frustrated and inconsiderate drivers! Some even diverted up the single track to Bossall and didn't slow down for us leaving less than 1.5m while passing fast!! We won't be using these roads again until the bridge reopens...

Yes, there have been lots of posts on the Stamford Bridge Community Page on Facebook about this. Avoid Buttercrambe area at all costs. If you do go, though, you might be able to have a laugh at the HGVs and caravans who get stuck and have to find a way to turn round! It is not an official diversion but satnavs and Google maps are sending people that way.
